Deux conférences sont programmées: - Current topics of research activities and capability of the Parasitology Department of Veterinary Faculty, Erciyes University. - Leishmaniasis in Western Palearctic Region and, microhabitats and activities of their sand fly vectors Alparslan YILDIRIM, is MDVet, PhD, Full Professor at Erciyes University, Kayseri-Turkey, where he is currently in charge of important academic and administrative responsibilities (i) Head of the Parasitology department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, (ii) Director of the "Vectors and Vector-Borne Diseases Implementation and Research Center" and (iii) Coordinator of Erciyes University Research Projects, Coordination Unit. His main current research and areas of scientific interest concern: Vectors and vector-borne diseases and Parasites of domesticated animals (Epidemiology, Molecular diagnosis, Phylogeny, Proteomics), and Investigation of novel biotechnological and molecular tools in the diagnosis of parasitic infection especially with zoonotic importance. He is author of many publications of high impact and member of the board of many international journals of veterinary science and Parasitology. Yusuf ÖZBEL is a Professor in Ege University Medical Faculty, Department of Parasitology, Bornova, İzmir-Turkey. Editor in Chief of Turkiye Parazitoloji Dergisi (www.tparazitolderg.org) (Turkiye Parazitol Derg) since 1994 and also President of Turkish Society of Parasitology since 2016. He published 125 Publications in International Peer-Reviewed Journals and 70 publications in National Peer-Reviewed Journals since 2020. His current research and areas of interest are (i) Epidemiology of leishmaniasis : Reservoir and vector studies in the regions are seen visceral or cutaneous leishmaniasis cases in Turkey. (ii) Leishmania-Phlebotomus interaction and development of new molecular biological tools for the detection of Leishmania promastigotes in vector Phlebotomus. (iii) Identification of Phlebotomus using standart dissection technics and molecular biological tools. And (iv) Serological and molecular biological diagnostic techniques: Application of current methods in diagnostic technology for leishmaniasis. Le séminaire est organisé dans le cadre du projet de cooperation bilatérale entre la Tunisie et la Turquie "Molecular survey of Leishmania species in phlebotomine sand flies and dogs in the Middle Black Sea Region of Turkey and three endemic areas in Tunisia: Seasonal dynamics based on climate and environmental factors".
